British buyers have regained their position as the top foreign property purchasers in Spain, with golf homes in Andalusia emerging as one of the leading lifestyle trends for 2026.
According to data from the Spanish Property Registry Office, Registradores de España, UK nationals accounted for around 7.93% of all foreign property purchases in the final quarter of 2025. This represents the highest share among non-Spanish nationalities and reflects the continued strength of British demand in the Spanish real estate market.
Andalusia leads Spain’s housing market, capturing 20.03% of total sales — roughly one in every five transactions. Its prime location along the Costa del Sol, year-round sunny climate, and concentration of world-class golf courses enhance its appeal to buyers seeking an integrated lifestyle and long-term investment opportunities.
British purchasers are no longer focusing solely on holiday homes but are increasingly turning to residential communities that offer comprehensive amenities. A notable example is La Cala Golf Resort in Mijas, which features three golf courses along with extensive leisure, sports, and wellness facilities.
Current offerings include three-bedroom townhouses starting from €641,000, as well as apartments and duplexes from €410,000. These properties emphasize natural light and outdoor living spaces — features that are in particularly high demand among British buyers.
The appeal of Andalusia remains supported by more than 300 sunny days per year, in addition to Spain’s reputation as one of Europe’s healthiest countries, reinforcing its status as a preferred destination for both living and investment.
