Launch of Real Estate Registry Implementation in Several Districts of Riyadh and Makkah Al-Mukarramah

The General Authority for Real Estate announced the commencement of the title-based real estate registration process in several districts within the Riyadh and Makkah Al-Mukarramah regions, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop the real estate registry system and enhance confidence in the real estate sector across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Authority stated that the first phase will include the registration of one property in Al-Mughattarah District in Diriyah Governorate, affiliated with the Riyadh Region, and Al-Hudaybiyah District in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region. This phase is scheduled to begin on February 1, 2026, and continue until May 7, 2026.

The Authority explained that the selection of these districts followed an in-depth study based on specific criteria, while emphasizing its plans to gradually announce additional areas and governorates that will be included in the title registration system in upcoming phases across various regions of the Kingdom.

Initial property registration in these areas will be available through the Real Estate Registry’s electronic platform or via approved service centers. The Authority alerted property owners subject to registration to the importance of verifying the validity of their title deeds and ensuring that all ownership documents comply with regulatory requirements to complete the registration process successfully.

The Authority also urged property owners to contact its official communication channels or customer service center to obtain further clarifications and information regarding the required procedures.

As part of the registration steps, a unique reference number will be assigned to each property, and a comprehensive title deed will be issued. This deed will include all essential details about the property, such as its description, current status, precise geospatial data, as well as the associated rights and obligations. This step comes in support of enhancing transparency, ensuring sector sustainability, and raising confidence levels in the real estate market.
