Minister of Municipal and Housing Affairs, Majid Al-Huqail, affirmed that the rapid urban development in Jeddah reflects the government’s collaboration with the private sector, highlighting the role of premium projects in supporting the economy in the Western Region and enhancing investment attractiveness.
He visited the “Alma Destination” project in North Jeddah on the Red Sea, along with the Governor’s Secretary, Saleh Al-Turki, where he followed up on the progress of works, infrastructure development, and main facilities, in the presence of officials from Al Thuraya Urban Development Company.
Alma Destination is considered one of the largest coastal real estate development projects in Saudi Arabia. The master plan and infrastructure have been completed, and construction phases are beginning, including residential, commercial, and tourism components, according to an approved vision to boost investment.

The project spans over 3 million square meters in Obhur and includes seven interconnected neighborhoods across two islands linked by bridges and waterways. It also features a 12.5-kilometer waterfront with a maritime promenade, navigation services, bridges, and gardens.
Water is the core element of the master plan, guiding land use and mobility to improve quality of life. Al Thuraya Urban Development CEO, Zuhair Bukhait, noted that the project reflects investor confidence and regulatory support that accelerated its completion.
The “Alma Destination” project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which enhances the role of the private sector and improves quality of life, adding significant value to Jeddah’s urban and tourism sector and contributing to attracting long-term investments along the Red Sea coast.
