The rise of national brokerage platform models has allowed a small number of firms to expand at unprecedented speed. While traditional brokerages continue to operate at scale, their dominance has gradually weakened as technology-driven national platforms gain traction. Unlike franchise-based expansion, these platforms scale organically by leveraging cloud infrastructure, operational efficiency, and integrated technology.
Real was founded in 2014 by Chairman and CEO Tamir Poleg alongside his co-founders with a clear objective: to use technology and streamlined operations to build a real estate brokerage capable of competing nationally at speed and scale. The founders identified an opportunity to combine real estate services with a centralized, technology-enabled brokerage platform, positioning Real as a disruptive alternative to legacy models. The company’s goal was to offer agents a high-quality, cost-effective option without sacrificing scale.
Strong Growth Outperformance
In recent years, Real has significantly outpaced the broader industry. Between 2022 and 2024, the company more than tripled its U.S. sales volume. During the same period, only one brokerage among the top 10 in 2025 recorded growth — Compass, which posted a modest 1.3 percent increase.
According to T3 Sixty’s Mega 1000, Real’s annual U.S. sales volume climbed from $12.1 billion in 2022 to $42.4 billion in 2024, supported by 90,298 transaction sides and 24,140 U.S.-based agents. This performance positioned Real as the fifth-largest brokerage in the United States by sales volume in 2025.

The Real Platform
At the core of Real’s operating model is its proprietary back-end platform, ReZen, which underpins all brokerage activity. Key features include:
-
End-to-end transaction management, enabling seamless communication, deal processing, commission management, and direct payments for agents, brokers, and teams
-
Automated compliance and brokerage oversight, reducing manual work while providing real-time visibility into transaction status
-
Integrated payment and financial services, including commission disbursement and access to financial tools
-
Leo CoPilot, an embedded AI-powered assistant that automates and monitors multiple operational processes
-
Customizable team management tools, allowing brokerages to structure teams, adjust compensation plans, manage sub-teams, and create individualized compensation models beyond Real’s base structure
A key driver of efficiency is full platform adoption. All Real agents use ReZen to manage and process transactions, and all agent payments are handled exclusively through the system. This level of 100 percent adoption is rare in brokerage technology and delivers significant operational advantages.
Built for Scale and Automation
Developed entirely in-house, the platform presents all transactions in a centralized interface, attaching relevant digital documents through file-management tools similar to Dropbox and organizing communications via a Slack-style messaging system. Each transaction includes its own structured conversation thread and document repository.
Real’s AI assistant, Leo, automatically reviews submitted documents and flags potential compliance or processing issues for human review. By September 2025, transaction documents had been mapped for AI-powered review in approximately 40 percent of Real’s markets. According to Chief Technology Officer Pritesh Damani, error detection in these markets has reached a high level of accuracy. The company plans to complete document mapping across all markets by the end of 2025.
Financial Transparency for Agents
Agents also gain real-time insight into their business performance through the Real Wallet section of the platform. Upon logging in, they can view a comprehensive dashboard that includes:
-
Monthly income and progress toward commission caps
-
Commission, equity, and revenue-share earnings
-
Revenue-share uplines and downlines
-
Active, closed, and terminated transactions
-
Funds available for borrowing from Real
Selecting an individual transaction provides a detailed overview, including timelines, deal status, payment details, internal communications, associated files, and alerts highlighting issues or required next steps. The Real Wallet also allows agents to analyze their data across transactions and time periods, giving them greater control and visibility over their business operations.
