Berlin, December 23 – According to figures released by the Federal Statistical Office, residential property prices in Germany continued to rise for the fourth consecutive quarter during the period from July to September, recording an increase of 3.3% compared to the same period last year.
These data confirm that the residential real estate market in Europe’s largest economy is continuing its recovery after a period of sharp decline between early 2022 and 2024, during which prices fell by as much as 13%.
Single-family homes and two-family houses benefited the most from this recovery, particularly in urban areas and major cities, where prices rose noticeably by 3.6% and 3.5% respectively in the third quarter of the year. In rural areas, prices increased by 3.2% compared with the same period last year.
Overall, the market recorded growth of 1.0% in the third quarter compared to the second quarter of the same year, reinforcing positive signals of recovery in the real estate sector.
At the same time, a Reuters survey conducted among a group of analysts last month confirmed that expectations point to the continuation of this upward trend. German residential property prices are forecast to rise by 3.5% by the end of this year, followed by growth of 3.4% next year, and then a further increase of 3.2% by 2027.
This recovery sends positive signals for a sector that represents one of the key pillars of the German economy, especially after the challenges it has faced in recent years.
